Sami Whitcomb

Sami Whitcomb is a veteran guard and two-time WNBA champion known for her perimeter shooting and leadership. A key contributor for the Mercury, she provides experience, floor spacing, and steady backcourt play.

Attending a Phoenix Mercury game at the Mortgage Matchup Center is an unforgettable experience. The arena is filled with excitement from the moment you arrive. Getting There: Whether you’re driving or taking public transportation, getting to the Mortgage Matchup Center is convenient. If you’re driving, there are several parking structures nearby, though street parking can be limited. For those using the Valley Metro Light Rail, the 3rd St. and Washington St./Jefferson St. stops are right next to the arena. Fares from Valley Metro cover both buses and trains.

Currently, an all-day ticket will run you $4.00. Valley Metro has teamed up with Mortgage Matchup Center, the Phoenix Suns and the Phoenix Mercury to bring light rail riders an amazing deal by combining fun and savings. As part of the RailRide ticket partnership, when you buy a ticket to a concert, event or basketball game at the Mortgage Matchup Center, your light rail fare is included at no additional cost!

Arrival Time: Arrive early to soak in the pre-game atmosphere, including fan experiences and promotions. The Mercury games are known for their high production value, so you won’t want to miss a moment, especially the hype team, the half-time show, and their mascot, Scorch!

Humble Bistro

What it’s known for: A new addition to the downtown dining scene, Humble Bistro is known locally for their handcrafted pastas, artisinal pizzas, and expansive wine list.

Condesa Phoenix

Style: Mexican

What it’s known for: After 13 amazing years at Crescent Ballroom, Condesa has branched off into its own space. Be sure to try Kendrick Lamar's favorite bean and cheese burrito, along with their new soft-serve margaritas.

Majerle's Sports Grill

Owned by former Phoenix Suns standout Dan Majerle, a Sun’s Ring of Honor inductee and (more recently) head men’s basketball coach at Grand Canyon University, the downtown sports bar has been a fan favorite since it opened in 1992.

Whether it’s a pre-game destination or a game-day stop for the sports-minded, the “original downtown sports bar” serves up a winning and hearty lineup with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees like Sir Charles Southwest Chicken Pasta, as well as a kids menu for rookie starters. 

Dust Cutter at Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel

Dust Cutter, the unique cocktail bar at Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, derives its name from the Wild West. Dust Cutter pays homage to this history by serving handcrafted cocktails with indigenous flavors. They embrace local roots by making a conscious effort to serve local beer and wine on tap. Dishes are shareable and made with locally sourced ingredients inspired by the Sonoran desert through a modern American approach.

You're stepping into Arizona prohibition history when you walk through the doors of Bitter & Twisted in downtown Phoenix. Once the home of the former Arizona Prohibition Headquarters, the historic Luhrs building now houses Bitter & Twisted. Listed as one of the top 10 bars with the "World's Best Cocktail Menu," and the proud home of the original recipe of the "Pornstar Martini," Bitter & Twisted has always treaded its own distinct path in the cocktail space.
